NPL Platinum Whey Protein + is a complete blend of highly bio-available proteins derived from milk, egg, and plant sources.
This blend offers a multi-stage protein release, resulting in a continuous amino acid present in the bloodstream to support improved muscle recovery and growth.
Platinum Whey Protein + is an ideal protein supplement to use any time of day including post-workout, before bedtime, or between meals.
What’s the difference between NPL Platinum Whey Protein + and NPL Platinum Whey Protein?
The new Whey Protein + is a blend sourced from whey, casein, egg, pea, and rice protein.
The original Whey Protein uses protein exclusively from whey.
Why did NPL launch this product?
Cost
At the time of this review (May 2022), there is a global shortage of whey which has dramatically increased the price.
Alternative protein sources have not seen as much of an increase as whey.
NPL wants to offer a more affordable yet quality protein product for the South African market.
So how do the Protein numbers compare?

- I like the protein,I use both water and milk sometimes and one thing I learnt about protein shakes is if it doesn’t taste good with water only it’s a bad protein powder and this one isn’t, I only tried Caramel fudge though
- I bought the product to rebuild my strength and muscles after injuries to both my anklesReview by Rose (24 February 2023)
- The supplement is worth using as it can be incorporated in every meal. I guess patience is a virtue if anyone wants to see whether a product works or not.
I was initially gifted with the product and I saw a quick improvement in my recovery. I was meant to be operated and I didn’t and I’m of the opinion that it’s as a result of whey.
Both my ankles have recovered even though one is still has slight pains. I fell in love in what the whey can do and I recommend it to any person that that is on a healing journey or weaker muscles due to injuries or age.
I’m back to my exercise routine and my weak knees and ankles have gained strength and I surprised myself that I can do squats which was a mission to do. - MixedReview by Stef (12 October 2022)
- Did not use the protein as I usually would so I cannot speak for muscle building results. The protein itself mixes poorly and caused severe bloating and stomach aches. Not sure if it is just me though.
